Apologies that it’s been a while since the last blog – as you can imagine we’ve been very busy!
I’m pleased to say the sale has been completed. We exchanged contracts a couple of weeks ago and then completed a few days later, so it all went fairly smoothly and quickly.
It all got a bit stressful towards the end as the buyer was really pushing the sale to go through quickly because they wanted to move in as soon as possible. However we didn’t yet have the documents that they needed for their solicitors, which has been a learning curve for us as we now know what certificates and documents are required if we do go on to sell another house. I would advise other first-time sellers to have a checklist of all the potential issues that could crop us when selling a home.
Moving out was easy as I was organised and had put furniture in storage and had boxed up most of our stuff before we exchanged, which definitely helped. It was a bit sad to move out as we’ve loved living there and doing it up, but we’re excited about finding our next project on Rightmove!
The service from Houses.co.uk has been excellent throughout the whole process. They’ve kept us up to date and given us their opinion when needed. We’ve recommended them to friends and family – in fact, one of our friends has actually just put their house up for sale with Houses.co.uk.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my blog. If you’re thinking about selling your house online but aren’t sure whether you’ll get the same service as a high street agent, my advice would be to go for it. It really is as good as it sounds!
